Liars & Heroes
Oregon is rich with folklore, and great folk traditions. Many individuals from Oregon’s history are remembered today as regional folk heroes for extraordinary stories and exaggerations (or lies) told about their lives. These have been retold over the years, adding to our culture, but are likely unfamiliar to most Oregonians.
Inspired by these stories, I created a bandana series to celebrate our folk heroes and storytelling history. These were meant to bring these tales to a new audience, and be carried as we carry our history and culture. I hoped to create timeless designs, rich with history and preserve these tales.
